It's an old world
In a young sky
The same old book in a brand new cover
I rise from my bed to breathe the dust of dead poets
Kings and philosophers

I quench my thirst with the waters of Einstein and Galileo
Swirling around the atmosphere with a stale freshness
Assailing the nostrils
Assaulting the eyes
Swirling around my glass like small dead mice in the W.C.

The water department knows where I live
Their agents watch us day and night
We know all their secrets
Provocateurs everyone to a man
They hide in dark corners with venomous snakes in hand
Tapping our phones
Plunging us into darkness
We wander the desert
Finally free from the shackles
Of molecular bondage
Secure in the knowledge that everyone who has ever lived
can be found in your local sewage lagoon
